Join Beth Mort of Snapdragon Flower Farm and learn the beauty of hidden pigments in everyday garden blooms through bundle dyeing and eco-printing! Bring your curiosity and creativity for a morning of making botanical patterns using the bundle dye technique on silk scarves, repurposed cotton and other natural fiber samples.
In addition to working with a variety of dye flowers grown on the farm for the dye project, you’ll learn about the easiest to grow and best pigment plants for your own garden, not just growing tips but also harvest and processing for dye projects all year long. You will learn the basics of preparing fabrics for natural dyes and get to practice eco-print methods on cotton to try out in your future dye work.
You’ll leave with your unique, bundle-dyed silk scarf, sample on cotton, an eco-print example and a take home how-to guide that includes a list of Beth’s favorite dye plants for your home dye garden.
All tools and materials provided.
Classes are designed for students 16 and older. Please only register if you meet this age requirement.
